Six different ball games can be enjoyed on aQuolley courts. Get to know the six aQuolley sports, the rules adapted to the water, and the logic of the multilevel competition system built on the FairChallenge principle (everyone competes at the level that fits their age and ability). Because of its popularity and depth, this page covers only the detailed rules of aQuolley (water volleyball) — but the other five sports were adapted along the same principles.
Classic team games in the water; resizable courts, adjustable net heights, special balls.
The premium take on classic volleyball, adapted for shallow water.
Badminton in the water: traditional rackets and shuttlecocks, perfectly optimized for the shallow-water setting.
The same beach tennis paddles and balls as on the sand, but the court is in shallow water and the net sits at 1.6–1.9 m.
Beach handball tuned for shallow water, with two goals and a special ball.
The most spectacular take on the dry-land classic, dreamed into the waves – with two goals and a special ball.
A popular mass-participation sport, carried into the waves.
aQuolley is volleyball reimagined for the water, growing — after beach and snow volleyball — into an entirely new leisure sport of its own.
In designing it, we put the broadest possible participation ahead of visual spectacle or commercial appeal. Our primary goal is carefree fun that everyone can reach, from which the competitive sport of the future can grow organically.
aQuolley's official competition rules are based on the rules of classic volleyball, adapted for the water.

Bringing land-based ball games into the water is an exceptionally complex challenge, demanding serious engineering and sporting expertise. In the water everything changes: no two venues are alike, conditions are unpredictable, and depth fundamentally affects how fast you can move. To make the result both safe and maximally enjoyable, the court and the rules had to be rethought from scratch.
Unpredictable environmental conditions
Fixed dimensions and limited space
Risky in water that's too shallow, awkward in water that's too deep
The court boundary can't be the edge of the pool
Play only with lightweight, waterproof balls
4D adaptability
Maximum experience, no compromises
